Calling all budding young writers! On Monday 30 January 2012 Chris Evans launched the second 500 WORDS short story competition, open to anyone in the UK aged 13 and under.

Last year there were nearly 30,000 entries and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever. There are two age categories: 9 and under and 10 – 13. (The closing date for the competition is Thursday 1 March, World Book Day).

The story has to be no more than 500 words, and has to be an original fictional work by the entrant.
