The Books Are My Bag Readers Awards, sponsored by National Book Tokens, are one of a kind. They’re the only book awards with shortlists curated by bookshops – and the only major awards voted for by book lovers. Returning for a second year, the awards now include two new categories for books written for younger readers, alongside six adult categories.
Are you a young reader? Vote now for your favourite book and you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win one of ten £100 National Book Token gift cards – that’s £100 to spend on lovely books to read!

If you know or work with young bookworms aged 7 to 18, share this link so they can cast their votes too. Children under 13 will need a guardian’s permission to enter.
For the full list of awards, including adult fiction and non-fiction, head on over to our main awards page at nationalbooktokens.com/vote to see all the categories and place your vote.
Win an author visit for your school with National Book Tokens
In celebration of the two new categories for younger readers, Middle Grade (7-11) and Young Adult (12-18), the awards’ sponsor, National Book Tokens, is offering schools across the country the chance to win a set of books shortlisted for the awards – plus one overall winner will receive a special visit from one of the shortlisted authors!
To enter, just get your students to come up with some questions for this year’s shortlisted authors and submit them using the link below. The winning questions will be answered by the authors on the National Book Tokens website, in their newsletter and on social media, plus each student who submits a winning question will receive a £15 National Book Token. If one of your students wins, you’ll receive a set of the Books Are My Bag Young Readers Award shortlisted titles for your school library, and one overall winner will receive a visit from one of the authors.
