50 Books to talk about

The search for The Book to Talk About 2009 is on. And this year we’re looking for both fiction and non-fiction books that make great subjects for discussion and great food for thought. Like last year, the winner will be chosen from our long list by public vote.

Visit www.spread-the-word.org.uk to see the long list of 50 titles where you can register to comment on and vote for each book. The short list was announced in early 2009, and the ultimate winner will be announced on World Book Day 2009.

The archive of 2008’s long list of 100 titles is also be available.

Boy A by Jonathan TrigellFocusing upon ‘hidden gem’ fiction World Book Day’s 2008 search for Spread the Word: Books to Talk About highlighted titles that deserved greater public attention, specifically from avid readers, book buyers and reading group members.

Last year’s worthy winner of The Book to Talk About was Boy A by Jonathan Trigell, published by Serpent’s Tail.
