Design a Christmas Book Cover Competition!

« Back

This winter, we are running a very special competition to inspire you to get your creative hat on. Celebrate the festive season by designing a book cover and writing a short blurb for a story that would be perfect for Christmas!

The book cover and blurb must be connected to the theme of Christmas, but we would love for you to draw and write about the season in any way you like; it could be anything from a tale about characters putting up decorations, to reindeers going on a Christmassy mission or even a story about meeting Santa Claus! The book cover and blurb telling us what happens in your story (no more than 100 words) will both need to fit on one A4 piece of paper. You can include your very own festive characters, but any characters that you draw or write about must be original and not from any other book, TV show or film.

We are really excited to see what festive covers and blurbs you come up with for your story. If you are aged 5 to 18 and are excited by this chance to spread the Christmas magic, then we can’t wait to hear from you.

The winner from each category will receive a £25 National Book Tokens gift card in a special festive design. The overall winner and 3 runners-up from each category will also have their cover and blurb published on our website so that everyone can enjoy their magical creations.

You have until 17:00 on 2nd December 2018 to send in your book cover and blurb (you can take a photo or scan it). Please email your full name, age and address to hi@worldbookday.com with the subject line ‘WBD Christmas Cover’ and your age category, 5-8, 9-12 or 13+ (e.g. WBD Christmas Cover 9-12). We will pick one winner and three runners-up from each category.

Good luck!
