Share A Story just got bigger and better!
If you’ve taken part in World Book Day over the last two years then you’ll know all about Share A Story – our campaign that celebrates the benefits of reading for pleasure and the importance of sharing a story. We’ve been blown away by the support and enthusiasm of people like you who have embraced the concept of Share A Story and helped to spread the word.
So we decided it was time for a challenge. In 2020 we want to get the nation to Share A Million Stories. At home, at school, in bookshops and libraries, every story share will count. You’ll just need to sign up to our Share A Million Stories website (coming soon!) and log your 10-minute story shares throughout World Book Day month – Thursday 27thFebruary to Sunday 29thMarch 2020.
Reckon we can do it? Of course we can! Stay tuned here and via our newsletter for full details later this year.
A few stats from World Book Day 2019
Share a Story events and activities took place in thousands of schools, bookshops & libraries nationwide, while the hashtag #ShareaStory was trending all day on Twitter, reaching 27 million people. Not only that, 57% of nurseries and 62% of primaries saw a change in reading habits as a result of promoting our 10-minute reading message.*
