As part of your World Book Day celebrations, why not host your own ‘Design & Donate’ event?
Challenge your pupils to be as creative as they like by transforming a potato or wooden spoon into their favourite book character or creating their favourite book in a jam jar or shoe box. This fun and cheap activity is a brilliant way of encouraging children and young people to celebrate their favourite stories and let their imaginations run wild!
You can then hold an event to showcase them in your classroom or hall. Why not charge parents/grandparents/carers £1 to come and view your pupils’ creations? You could even encourage pupils and parents to vote on their favourites using our World Book Day badges or National Book Tokens as prizes for the lucky winners.
From Zog to Paddington, classic fairytales to more recent releases, we’ve put together a gallery of some of our favourites to inspire you!
We’d love to see your creations so please share them with us using @WorldBookDayUK #WorldBookDay
