There are so many ways that you can host a Big Booky Breaktime and raise money to help change children and young people’s lives both here in the UK & Ireland and abroad.
Whether you decide to host your own reading event complete with book-related treats or decorate potatoes as your favourite book character to showcase at breaktime, we really hope you make fundraising a part of your World Book Day celebrations.
Every £1 raised helps us bring more books to children and young people in the UK & Ireland and every £2 raised can send another book abroad through our friends at Book Aid International so no amount of money raised is too small.
Look out on this page for more ideas to come on how you can host your own Big Booky Breaktime!
Note to schools:
From 2021, World Book Day will lead schools’ fundraising activity including the Big Booky Breaktime and ensure that Book Aid International receives a portion of funds raised. This will be 2/3 of those funds in 2021, and a minimum of ½ of those funds in 2022 and 2023.
If you are a school who fundraised for Book Aid International on World Book Day 2020, please refer to the Book Aid International website for details on how to pay your money in.
