The Against All Odds activity pack supports the 2026 World Book Day £1/€1.50 teen title. It offers simple, low-cost prompts to help young people think about identity, confidence and also following their own path. It brings together Book Chat questions from Coram Beanstalk and creative tasks from My Kind of Book to encourage reflection, self-expression and trying something new. You can use the pack before or after reading Against All Odds. It gives teens space to explore Noranto’s journey in their own way.
Why it works
This pack is designed for older readers. The activities focus on voice, choices and the courage to back yourself even when it feels risky. They build reading for pleasure by helping teens connect with themes of ambition, friendship and staying true to who you are. The tasks are flexible and let young people work alone or with an adult while building confidence in their own ideas.
How to use it
Print the sheet or share it digitally and choose activities to try at home, in school or in a youth setting. Young people can explore the Book Chat questions, make a collage of ambitions or play with words to create a short poem. Use the Against All Odds activity pack with or without the book to support reflection, creativity and self-belief.
