    Swapna Haddow

    Swapna Haddow is the multi award-winning children’s author of the Dave Pigeon series, published by Faber & Faber. The Dave Pigeon series has received rave reviews since first publishing in 2016 and went on to win three regional awards in the UK and was shortlisted for the prestigious Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award.

    Swapna loves to write about boisterous animals that cause mayhem and is working with Faber & Faber, Stripes Publishing, Scholastic, Oxford University Press and Macmillan to make sure mean cats, grizzly bears and big-hearted little rabbits find their place on the bookshelves. Friendship and humour are always at the heart of what she loves to write.

    Swapna also writes the Ballet Bunnies series, illustrated by Binny Talib and published by Oxford University Press, under the pseudonym ‘Swapna Reddy’.

    Swapna lives in New Zealand with her husband and son, and their dog, Archie. When she’s not writing she is usually reading, dreaming about living on a boat or eating Jaffa Cakes.

    Sheena Dempsey

    Sheena Dempsey is a children’s book illustrator from Cork, Ireland. She has illustrated over thirty books for children over the last decade including the award-winning Dave Pigeon series and Bad Panda series, both written by Swapna Haddow. Swapna and Sheena were dubbed a ‘dream team’ by the Guardian in 2021. Sheena has also illustrated Yoga Babies and Hungry Babies by Fearne Cotton as well as a best-selling mindfulness picture book series for the Irish market by Niall Breslin. She is also the illustrator of the Mermaid School young fiction series by Lucy Courtenay. She lives in Folkestone, Kent with her husband Mick and their adorable greyhound Jeremy.
