Time-travelling penguins Pablo and Splash are on a quest! Splash has heard there was an unlimited supply of delicious fishy snacks in medieval England. She heads straight to the time-machine, pulling best pal Pablo along by the flipper.
They soon meet some sheep, a pig and a very angry farmer – but no sign of tasty treats at all. Will they have better luck inside the castle? Or is it time to say ‘good knight’?

About the author and illustrator
Sheena Dempsey
Sheena Dempsey is an Irish author/illustrator who first had the idea for Pablo and Splash during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, when she created a webcomic featuring herself and her husband as penguins. The first Pablo and Splash book was published in 2024 and is shortlisted for the British Book Book Awards Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year 2025.
The series now includes Pablo and Splash: Frozen in Time and Pablo and Splash: Roman Holiday, with Pablo and Splash: Viking Voyage coming soon. Sheena now lives in Kent, with her husband and their greyhound, Jeremy.
