A playful way for pupils to share book ideas with friends. Make your own fortune teller and fill it with book recommendations.

This activity gets pupils talking about books together and sharing what they enjoy. It encourages creative ways to recommend stories and builds excitement about choosing the next read.

How it works
Start by asking children to think about books they’ve enjoyed and would recommend. Talk about what makes a good book to share and how friends can inspire each other to read. Then, using the template, children can:
- Write a colour or single-word clue in each corner square
- Number the inner triangles 1–8
- Add eight book recommendations in the centre
- Cut out the square and turn it face down
- Fold each corner into the centre along the guide lines
- Flip over and fold the corners in again
- Fold in half with the clue squares on top
- Slide fingers under the flaps to play

Create themed fortune tellers that link clue words, numbers, and titles to lead players to a special book.
