The Pablo and Splash dressing-up ideas support the 2026 World Book Day £1/€1.50 book Pablo and Splash: The Castle Quest. Children can dress up as the adventurous duo using simple materials, printed templates, or easy no-printer alternatives.

Why it works

These dressing-up ideas inspire imaginative play, creative problem-solving, and storytelling fun. Children can explore different time-travel eras just like Pablo and Splash, while enjoying the story and joining in with World Book Day celebrations. The low-cost approach helps every child take part.

How to use it

Children can choose their time-travelling look: sunglasses and beach shorts, a hat and scarf, or even a toga made from a white sheet. They can then use the flipper and feet templates to create accessories inspired by the book’s main characters. If they don’t have a printer, they can simply draw their own flippers and feet using paper or card.

Get started

Print the flipper and feet templates, colour them, and cut them out carefully. Attach them to your shoes or use them as handheld props. Combine these pieces with your chosen outfit to bring the Pablo and Splash dressing-up ideas to life. Children can wear their creations while reading the book, acting out scenes, or taking part in school and community celebrations.
