Share A Million Stories

We did it! You are officially amazing...

Thank you to everyone who took part in our Share A Million Stories campaign in 2020. We have been bowled over by your support in helping us to smash our target, with an amazing 2.4 million story shares in schools, nurseries, bedrooms, bookshops, libraries, prisons, football stadiums, theatres, TV studios and online across the UK & Ireland throughout World Book Day month (Thursday 27 February – Sunday 29 March 2020).

But, story sharing doesn’t have to stop there… our Reading Revolution aims to help change children’s lives, by making story-sharing a habit of a lifetime, creating readers for life and sparking millions of imaginations. While you are spending time at home over the coming weeks, make time in your day to spend at least 10 minutes a day, every day, sharing stories together to keep us all calm, creative and inspired. Here are some fun ideas to help you:

  • See our range of brilliant resources for story-sharing ideas and inspiration (scroll down the page and click on the circles)
  • See some of the super share-o-meters created in schools nationwide
  • Stream free audiobooks – thanks to the lovely publishers we partner with, we’ve been able to offer free audiobooks for an extended amount of time
  • Download a certificate to reward your story-sharers
We have shared 2,472,988 stories.
Help us share a million stories.
