Share a Story Reading Stars Competition Winners!

« Back

We’re delighted to announce the winners of our Reading Stars Display Competition!

In the Nursery category, the winner of our Top 25 Picture Books is SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy and Nursery in Wolverhampton. The huge number of photos in their display showed that the children (and parents and teachers!) must have really embraced the whole idea of Sharing a Story.

In the Primary category, the winner of our Top 100 Stories to Share is Markland Hill Primary in Bolton. We were so impressed with their READ display. It was very clever, and really imaginative – chockablock full of photos and surrounded by hand-drawn front covers of the children’s favourite books.

We also loved this picture of the kids looking at the display and trying to find themselves in the collage.

We’d like to give a special mention to three more entries that particularly caught our eye.

Little Dolphin’s Day Nursery in Bexleyheath recreated the front cover of one of their favourite stories, Ten in the Bed.

Newport C of E Primary on the Isle of Wight ran a competition to ‘get caught sharing a story’ then created their display in a Story Sharing Corner in their school library.

Wincham Community Primary School created a new Share a Story wall in their school library – find out more about it here.

A huge thank you goes out to every school and nursery that sent in their displays featuring pupils sharing stories with their loved ones from breakfast until bedtime. We loved looking through all your photos and seeing how many of you have embraced our #ShareAStory campaign. We hope you will all keep on sharing stories!
