At The Bookseller’s Conference 2020, we announced all our plans for the World Book Day 2021 campaign. The conference took place as a live digital event, and it was great to see so many people tune in and have such enthusiastic responses. Our CEO Cassie Chadderton spoke with three of our brilliant £1 book authors about what World Book Day means to them, and how storytelling can be more important than ever in times like these. Our exciting panelists were:
Joseph Coelho, author of Luna Loves World Book Day.
Katherine Rundell, author of Skysteppers.
Sita Brahmachari, author of The River Whale.
We also shared updates about the very exciting new projects we have coming up: Share a Story Corner and World Book Day Book Club! Our campaign plan for the upcoming years will aim to reach more children that ever before. We want to make sure every child has access to books, and our upcoming events – all digital for the year ahead – will help children enjoy reading for pleasure as a life-long habit.
The new £1 books will be available from February 2021.
