Is file agus scríbhneoir páistí í Áine Ní Ghlinn agus ba í Laureate Litríochta na nÓg na hÉireann 2020-2023 í. Tá 38 leabhar foilsithe aici. Ina measc seo tá ficsean d’aosaigh óga, scéalta, úrscéalta, leabhair pictiúr agus drámaíocht do léitheoirí óga chomh maith le filíocht do dhaoine fásta agus páistí.
Tá réimse gradam buaite aici, lena n-áirítear Comhaltacht Filíochta Patrick Kavanagh, Gradam Réics Carló, Leabhar Gaeilge na Bliana do Pháistí trí huaire do na úrscéalta Daideo, Hata Zú Mhamó agus Boscadán, gradam onóra ficsin Leabhair Páistí Éireann agus Leabhar na Bliana Chumann Litearthachta na hÉireann don úrscéal d’aosaigh óga Daideo.
Bhí sí ar dhuine de thrí ainmní na hÉireann do Ghradam Cuimhneacháin Astrid Lindgren (ALMA) in 2022 agus 2023 agus tá gradaim filíocht éagsúla buaite aici, lena n-áirítear Seachtain Scríbhneoirí Lios Tuathail, Féile Filíochta Bhéal na mBuillí, An tOireachtas agus An Fiach Dubh.
In 2009 ba é Daifní Dineasár (O’Brien Press) an chéad leabhar Gaeilge a bhí san áireamh i réimse Lá Domhanda na Leabhar £1/€1.50 (mar le méarú le Alfie Green & the Monkey Puzzler le Joe O’Brien).
Áine Ní Ghlinn is a poet and children’s writer and was Ireland’s Laureate na nÓg/Children’s Literature Laureate 2020-2023.
She has 38 books published. These include young adult fiction, stories, novels, picture books and drama for young readers as well as poetry for adults and children.
She has won a range of awards, including the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Fellowship, Gradam Reics Carló, Irish Language Children’s Book of the Year on three occasions for the novels Daideo, Hata Zú Mhamó and Boscadán, Children’s Books Ireland fiction honour award and the Literacy Association of Ireland Book of the Year for the YA novel Daideo.
She was one of Ireland’s three nominees for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) in 2022 & 2023 and has won various poetry awards, including Listowel Writers’ Week, Strokestown Poetry Festival, An tOireachtas & An Fiach Dubh.
In 2009, Daifní Dineasár (O’Brien Press) was the first Irish language book to be included in the £1/€1.50 World Book Day selection (as a flipper book with Joe O’Brien’s Alfie Green & the Monkey Puzzler).
