Home > Resources > 2026 World Book Day £1/€1.50 Books full activity pack

This full activity pack brings together resources for all 18 World Book Day £1/€1.50 books for 2026.

Each book has its own activity sheet, designed to help children enjoy reading, talk about books, and explore stories in playful, accessible ways. Schools, settings, and families can use the activities flexibly, either alongside the books or as stand-alone prompts for reading for fun.

Why it works

The activities are designed to:

  • Support reading for pleasure, not assessment
  • Encourage talk, imagination, and curiosity
  • Help children make personal connections with books
  • Offer low-pressure ways to explore stories together

Because each activity sheet is flexible, adults can adapt them for classrooms, libraries, or reading at home.

What’s included

The pack includes 18 individual activity sheets, one for each £1/€1.50 book. Every sheet features:

  • Three reading recommendations linked to the book
  • Book chat prompts to support discussion and shared thinking
  • Games and creative activities inspired by the story
  • Sensory and extension activities from My Kind of Book

Activities are tailored to each title and work across a range of ages and settings.

How to use it

  • Use the full pack to plan World Book Day activities across a class or school
  • Dip into individual sheets linked to specific books
  • Share activities with families to support reading beyond the classroom
