An uair dheireanach a casadh Tomás Mac Lannchaidh agus a theaghlach orainn in Turas go Meiriceá bhí siad tar éis an t-aistear fada as Éirinn siar go Meiriceá a chur díobh. Bhí idir bhrón agus ghliondar ag baint  leis an aistear céanna. Anois tá siad réidh le dul i dtír agus saol nua a réiteach dóibh féin san Oileán Úr áit a gcuirfidh siad tús le haistear cinniúnach eile.

This book picks up the story we read in Turas go Meiriceá by Miriam Molony, of Tomás Mac Lannchaidh and his family and their voyage to the New World in an effort to escape the Great Famine in Ireland. As they step onto dry land again they reflect on who and what they have left behind, but their hearts are stirred with a new hope and the prospect of a brighter future.
